In Campfire you can add animations to your scenes in 2 ways.

  1. Bring a model with animations created in another tool.
  2. Create simple animations using the scene transition features

Models with Animations

If you already have an animated model, simply import the model using the file picker on the top left. Click on the model and choose Animation in the Scene tab of the Inspector. This will then give you options to change the default settings on playback, direction and speed.

Scene Transitions

Using scene transitions, you can also author animations to demonstrate how a part works or a training procedure is done in a few quick steps.

1. Import the model

2. Duplicate the scene

3. Make changes to the duplicated scene

In the duplicated scene, you can adjust the position and materials for parts of the model. For example, you can move and rotate a specific part out to mimic the actual motion of the part.

Once you are satisfied with the changes, go to the Inspector, and in the Scene Transition drop down, choose your desired speed. Now, switching between the 2 scenes will show a smooth transition between the changes made. You can create as many duplicates as you need to demonstrate more complex procedures or steps.

Here’s a quick summary to show you the steps and the changes. In this scenario, we imported a model of a car. We then duplicated the scene, made the outer shell transparent and rotated the car to position it better. Lastly, we also duplicated the second scene (to create a third scene) and exploded the model in it. Going through all three scenes, you will see how you can use scene transitions to show powerful animations.
